Media power

Have you noticed how the mainstream media (liberal and Democrat dominated arena that it is) has managed to inflict damaging images on possible Presidential candidates...as long as they're not Democrats? For instance, Sarah Palin is portrayed as an opportunistic, dumb person who the Republicans should never have put on the presidential ticket. The New York Times just today claims that her resignation from Alaska's governorship was partly the result of her just not taking sound advice. A different kind of candidate, someone intelligent like Mitt Romney, who does pay attention to polls and is flexible enough to change positions when convinced of the wisdom of doing so, is mocked for his hair and smeared as a "flip-flopper".

Yet Edwards' adultery got hidden by the media, Obama's political weaknesses were ignored, and the pick of an old-time establishment politician like Biden for the "Hope and Change" ticket was hardly criticized. I'm not even going to try to mention all the times the media has left out the Democratic affiliation of a Democrat politican in news stories (just do a quick search on the subject yourself if you need convincing...it happens far more with Democrats than with Republicans).

Journalism with such clear but unacknowledged bias deserves no respect. Nor paying subscribers.
